Are you too busy getting ready for work or feeding your family in the morning? Instead of grabbing the usual but unhealthy sweet pastry, danish, donut and so on, why don’t you spare 5 minutes to whip up a nutritious, filling smoothie to jump-start your day. Fruity Breakfast Smoothie

A great breakfast on-the-go solution when you are running late because it is one of those mornings…  Enjoy!

PREP TIME: 5 MINS   COOK TIME: N/A   SERVES: 2

Ingredients:

1 cup fruit (banana, berries, peach, mango, etc.)
1 cup plain yogurt of choice (I like almond or coconut yogurt)
1 cup filtered water (almond milk, any plant-based milks)
1/2 cup almonds (cashews, walnuts, seeds), soaked 4-8 hours
1 to 2 Medjool dates, pitted (1 tsp. raw honey or maple syrup)
2 to 3 Tablespoons soaked rolled oats (Gluten Free if needed)
pinch of cinnamon, optional

Directions:

Put all the ingredients in a high speed blender and blend well until smooth. Pour into 2 tall glasses or 4 small ones and serve immediately with a fancy straw. Keep in the refrigerator for 2 days. For a thick smoothie, use frozen fruits or ice cubes before blending. For a thinner smoothie, add extra water or pant milk.
Presoaked buckwheat will be nice too in instead of the rolled oats.  Do use organic ingredients when available.
Enjoy!
